My Kind of Pi
On Saturday, March 14, one of San Francisco's best attractions waives its admission fee. For those of you who didn't ace Algebra, that's National Pi Day at the Exploratorium, a quirky but beloved international holiday celebrating the never-ending number π (3.14159...) and the spirit of wonder that science stirs. This mathematically inspired holiday was founded by Exploratorium physicist and "Prince of Pi" Larry Shaw so where better to celebrate than in The Exploratorium's 21st century learning lab, where Pi-themed activities will be entertaining, educational and plentiful. On your way back to your Daly City hotel, drop by Mission Pie at 3901 Mission Street for $3.14 slices of sweet or savory pie bursting with California goodness, all in celebration of Pi.
