Light Up Your Holidays
Every year, one of the most exciting events in the entire San Francisco Bay Area is the annual lighting of the Christmas tree in Union Square. On November 23, at 5:30 PM, 43,000 lights and over 700 ornaments will be lit to celebrate the beginning of the holiday season. The Macy’s 29th Annual Great Tree Lighting Ceremony is the popular chain’s yearly gift to the city of San Francisco and is one of the most family-friendly events of the entire season. Throughout the day, there will be live music from artists and acts like Darlene Love, Oakland Interfaith Gospel Choir, San Francisco Boys’ Choir, and more. In addition, there is a rumor that the big man himself, Santa Claus, will be in attendance for pictures and holiday wishes. Of course, the beginning of the holiday season also means the beginning of the holiday shopping season, and Macy’s will have plenty of Black Friday Specials for you to enjoy.
